The second week and the fourth week of Saturday are Central government holidays in India. There will be no banking transactions on these days at branches across the country. Banks including UCO Bank, Allahabad Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Dena Bank will remain closed during these two days.
Muharram: It is a Muslim festival. It is considered the first month of the Islamic calendar. The word Moharum means forbidden. People observe fast on this day. It is one of the four sacred months as per the Islamic calendar. The tenth day of Moharram is the Day of Ashura. It is celebrated to pay respect to the grandson of Prophet Mohammed, Hazrat Imam Hussain. The festival is celebrated in remembrance of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
