The Compressed Natural Gas or CNG is a kind of natural fuel which is an alternative source of fuel which can be used for the two-wheeler, auto, cars and so on. This natural gas acts as an alternative fuel in the place of gasoline, LPG, petrol and diesel.
The CNG is a domestically available fuel and is known for its clean burning and economically safer form of fuel found abundantly in nature. The CNG gas is compressed and stored in pressurized tanks on the vehicles.
The CNG is made by compressing natural gas which mainly contains methane to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure. The CNG is stored and distributed in hard containers at a normal pressure of 200 – 220 bar either in a spherical or cylindrical shaped container to maintain equal pressure on the wall of the storage container.
