In December, the Kerala government has announced holidays on the following days. December 12, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; December 25, on account of Christmas and December 26, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Kerala will remain closed on the above mentioned days.
The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Dena Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, IndusInd Bank and Federal Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Christmas: It is a Christian festival. The day marks the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. The day is celebrated with happiness and joy. The twinkling Christmas star which sets the tone for the season of celebration is put up outside all the shops and homes. People decorate their homes to give a mesmerizing look ahead of the festival. Miniature models will be kept in the churches to enact the birth of Lord Jesus. People wear new clothes on the day of the festival and donate food, money, clothes to the poor and needy as a part of charity on festival day.
Special delicious food including Christmas Cakes, Chicken Cutlets, Chicken Nuggets, Appam, Palappam, Pepper Chicken, Ishtu, Mutton Biriyani, Kerala Egg Rice, Beef Biriyani, Beef Pepper Roast, Chicken Ulli Thoran, Duck Curry, Kerala Fish Fry, Semiya Payasam, Pound Cake, Carrot Cake, Marble Cake and so on will be prepared.
