In January, the Jharkhand government announced holidays on the following days. January 14, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; January 26, on account of Republic Day and January 28, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Jharkhand will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, ICICI Bank and Bandhan Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Republic Day: It is a National festival. On this day the Constitution of India came into effect replacing the previously followed Government of India Act of 1935 as the governing document of India. The country adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, and the same came into effect starting from January 26, 1950. January 26 was chosen to celebrate Republic Day because in 1930 on this day the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj from the British Regime in India. Various personnel from the police and National Cadet Corps will participate in the march past session.
