The aadhar self service online more provides an opportunity to the aadhar card holders wherein they can directly place a request for updating the residential address on the portal.
The aadhar number and the registered mobile number are mandatory to login to the portal.
1. Online Mode
The self-service online mode offers the users to update their address all on their own on the portal. The resident is authenticated using an OTP on his or her registered mobile number. One has to upload the supporting proof of address (PoA) documents. The PoA documents will be verified against the requested data at a later point in the UIDAI’s Update in the back off by a Verifier.

Step 1: Visit the official site of UIDAI
Step 2: Mouse over ‘My Aadhaar’ option in the main page and select the option “Updating Data on Aadhaar” under the sub head About Your Aadhaar
Step 3: Login to the SSUP portal using Aadhaar number and OTP
Step 4: Select the fields to be updated
Step 5: Fill in the data in the selected fields
Step 6: Submit the form and an URN will be generated
Step 7: Select the BPO for review of the update
Step 8: Attach the original scan of the supporting documents
Step 9: Using the URN, check the aadhaar update status

2. Offline Mode
The UIDAI provides an opportunity for individuals to update their Aadhaar Card details by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centres. Both demographic, as well as biometric details, can be updated at the Aadhaar Card Enrollment Centres in Coimbatore.
Procedure for Updating Data By Visiting Permanent Aadhar Card Centre in Coimbatore
The UIDAI has come up with three modes of assisted updates and document verification will happen right at the time of placing the update request.
a) Updating Client Lite (UCL)
In this mode, all the demographic fields, photograph and local languages can be updated. This mode helps to verify those fields that require documentary evidence. In this mode, the biometric authentication is done by the resident.

This is similar to the UCL except for the fact that the biometric authentication is done in the back end. All the details including demographic information, local languages, a photo can be updated.

The ruling by India’s highest court – Supreme Court has made it clear that Aadhar card cannot be made mandatory as of now by the Government of India. In some cases, the government can make aadhar mandatory for example – the opening of bank account, application of PAN card number, verification of mobile number and so on.
After a long legal battle, the Aadhaar is made compulsory for most of the government schemes to avoid the misuse of funds and to end corruption. To avail the benefits of a range of government schemes, the central government has made the aadhar card necessary in order to authenticate their legitimacy. As of now, most of the subsidies are disbursed directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries which are linked to aadhaar card.
Out of India’s estimated population of approximately 135 crores, close to 1.12 billion aadhar number have been issued. Despite aadhar becoming one of the most important identity proof, it is yet to reach out to most of the people in the country. In place of aadhaar, one can use driving license, passport, PAN card for proof of address or identity proof.
The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is a scheme which is designed to help all the employees to save a small amount of their salary money on a monthly basis over a period of time, which can be used after retirement. Savings under EPF is tax-free in nature as per the Income Tax Act of 1961. One can link their EPF account with Aadhaar number either via online mode or offline mode.
How to link Aadhaar with EPF Account via online method?
Use the EPFO online service and link your aadhar number to EPF
Step 1: Visit the EPFO web site
Step 2: This is an eKYC Portal which is meant to link aadhar to EPF account.
Step 3: Enter your UAN, mobile number which is linked with UAN.
Step 4: Proceed further and click on generate OTP.
Step 5: Enter the OTP and select the gender to proceed further.
Step 6: Enter the Aadhaar number and choose the ‘Aadhar verification’ method. (you can either choose using mobile/e-mail based verification or use biometric)
Step 7: Choose the ‘Use Mobile or E-mail based verification’
Step 8: You will get an OTP to complete the verification process.
How to link Aadhaar with EPF Account via offline method?
Individuals who prefer to link their aadhar number with EPF account via offline mode has to visit the EPF office in their respective district and fill in the ‘Aadhaar seeding application’ form and provide the necessary documents including the photocopy of Aadhaar card, UAN and PAN card along with the form. Submit the form to the executive at any of the field offices of EPFO. After verification, the aadhaar number will be linked to the EPF account. You will be receiving a message to your registered mobile number related to this.
If an individual wish to secure an aadhar card, then he/she has to book for an appointment at one of the Coimbatore aadhaar card centres. The applicant can either directly visit one of the aadhar card enrollment centers in Coimbatore and has to wait until his/her turn comes in for enrollment. To avoid the same the UIDAI has provided an online platform in its official web page to help the applicant to book an appointment via online for aadhar card enrollment.
The below-mentioned steps form the procedure for aadhaar registration:
Step 1: Visit the official web portal of UIDAI
Step 2: Read all the terms and conditions carefully for the Enrollment Request Portal
Step 3: As a first-time applicant, one has to select the box against the statement which states that you have not enrolled for Aadhar yet.
Step 4: Enter the security code as mentioned on the screen to proceed further
Step 5: Select the state in which you reside
Step 6: Select the option ‘Verify and Proceed’ option that states that you agree with the Terms & Conditions
Step 7: A new web page will open wherein an Enrollment Request Application form is available.
Step 8: Fill in all the personal details in the form and ensure that it is accurate.
Step 9: Click on “Save and Continue” option to save the duly filled in form
Step 10: Review your filled data before proceeding further.
Step 11: Double-check for errors, if any as this will be the last step for making changes, if any.
Step 12: Now proceeding further select the ‘Submit’ button
Step 13: Now choose the enrollment centre wherein you prefer to get enrolled.
Step 14: The chosen enrollment centre is the place where your appointment for aadhar card has been booked.
Linking of Aadhar Card details with IRCTC Account helps travellers to easily book more e-tickets every month and users can book up to 12 e-tickets in a month. The users should get themselves verified through their aadhar number along with at least one passenger’s aadhar verification to book the rail tickets. The procedure to link aadhar card details with IRCTC is simple and easy and can be done successfully by following few steps via online.
Please Note: For booking of up to 6 railway tickets in a month, no aadhar verification is required and the existing facility to book up to 6 railway tickets without aadhar card details in a month continues.
Step 1: Visit the IRCTC website
Step 2: Login to the IRCTC website using the username and password
Step 3: Proceeding further choose the ‘My Profile’ and select ‘Aadhaar KYC’
Step 4: Enter your Aadhar card details and request for OTP.
Step 5: Now an OTP will be sent to your aadhar registered mobile number.
Step 6: Enter the OTP details in the given space and select the ‘Submit’ option.
Step 7: After the verification of information, the aadhar linking with IRCTC will be completed.
