Face Authentication:

The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) came up with a new feature for Aadhaar cardholders with a new feature, this new feature comes with the new technology called face authentication, Aadhaar cardholders can download their Aadhaar card online through the UIDAI official website, they can download their copy of Aadhaar card by facial authentication without OTP procedure.

To avail of this face authentication feature first, you need to enroll the Aadhaar card in any Aadhaar enrollment center.
Aadhaar cardholders will go to the official UIDAI website and enter their 12 digit Aadhaar number and show their face and their Aadhar card will be uploaded. This facility is unique like UIDAI's Aadhaar card and will further benefit ordinary Aadhaar cardholders.

It is important to know this before downloading the e-Aadhaar card. You can use this copy as the original Aadhaar card itself, i.e. an electronic copy that you can store in your electronic devices such as mobile and computer, E Aadhaar can be downloaded in the PDF format that you can print whenever you want. Steps to download the e-Aadhaar card through face authentication:

Step1: First, visit the website of the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).

Step2: you will go to the UIDAI website and you will see the option get Aadhaar on the menu.

Step3: Here you need to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number or virtual ID card number or registration ID number.

Step4: At the moment you will see three options such as OTP / TOTP / FACE AUTH.

Step5: You must fill in the captcha code and click on the FACE AUTH option.

Step6: If you do this process on your mobile then clicking on Face auth your front camera will start working, similarly, if you do this whole process through your laptop the laptop camera will start working and if you are doing this process through the desktop, you will need to use the webcam.

Step7: When the camera starts working, It will need to show your face in front of the camera and keep the face steady for a while in order to be able to capture it.

Step8: As your face is captured, a survey form opens in front of you, in this survey form you have to answer two small questions.

Step9: You fill out the survey form and click on the download button, your Aadhar map is downloaded, that too with your face.
Step 10: If you use the FACE Auth option, no OTP type is requested on your registered mobile number, that is, an unregistered mobile number that you can download the Aadhaar card through facial authentication.
NOTE: The UIDAI will capture your live image on the spot.

Q: How will I share the QR-Code?

Q: Can someone else generate VID for me?
ANSWER: No other entity like AUA / KUA can generate VID on behalf of the holder of the Aadhaar number.

Q: What is Virtual Identification (VID)?
ANSWER: VID is a temporary, revocable 16-digit random number mapped to the Aadhaar number. VID can be used instead of Aadhaar number whenever authentication or e-KYC services are performed. Authentication can be done using VID as using the Aadhaar number.
