The Aadhar card has become mandatory for securing benefits of the schemes run by the government of India. The best example for the same is the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme, which is used to transfer the LPG subsidy amount to the individual's bank accounts. To avail the LPG subsidy which will be deposited directly to the bank account, the applicant should link their LPG gas connection with Aadhaar number. The aadhar card can be used as both residential address proof as well as identity proof due to the authenticity of the document. Visit the UIDAI web site to know the nearest aadhar enrollment center in Delhi.

Aadhar card scanner Previously, the QR code, present on the printed letter Aadhar and e-Aadhaar card, contained only demographic information on the aadhar cardholders. But recently, the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) has introduced a new secure QR code which contains non-sensitive information such as name, address, photo and date of birth, and it can be used for verifying offline users without the 12-digit identification number. The information stored in the QR Code is secure and inviolable because it is digitally signed by the UIDAI.
This new digitally signed QR code can be read using the UIDAI custom application and can be validated against UIDAI digital signatures in real-time. Any type of fraud attempted on Aadhaar can be easily detected using the QR code scanner. A QR code is a form of barcode label that contains machine-readable information. In India, the Aadhaar card is playing a major role as Identity proof and as well as address proof for all kinds of work, the new QR code, which now comes with a photo, can be used offline to guard against document quenching.

The Aadhar card is a government document for which a resident Indian can apply and obtain at any of the Aadhaar Enrollment Centres.
It is a 12 digit identification number issued to an individual after receiving demographic information such as name, date of birth, residential address, biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scan and so on. It consists of random numbers which have no relationship to any personal details of the individual.
Earlier, the UIDAI used to follow the rules as per the Aadhar Act of 2016 which mentioned that aadhar can be issued only to the resident Indians. As per the act, the resident refers to an individual who has been residing in India for a period of equal to or more than 180 days in the 12 months immediately before the applying for the Aadhaar number.
But the 2019 Union Budget proposed to issue Aadhaar card to NRIs on arrival, who hold Indian passports without waiting for the mandatory 180 days.
The Aadhaar Card is linked with the centralized databases and mainly contains the demographic and biometric details of an individual which plays a key role in identifying the individual.
The procedure and documentation for the aadhaar card for NRI are similar to those for Indian citizens. The NRI must visit any Aadhaar enrollment centre steps for registering the Aadhar card for NRI are as follows:

Finally, your photo will be taken by the webcam and added to all the documents on the Aadhar card. With this, your official documents will be completed and you will be for the Aadhaar card at the unique identification authority of India(UIDAI).

No, No one can harm you by using your Aadhaar number. It works as the same another ID document such as passport, voter card, PAN card, ration card, driver's license, etc., which you have freely used for decades with service providers.
The Aadhaar identity, on the contrary, is instantly verifiable and therefore more reliable. Also, according to Aadhaar act 2016, the Aadhaar card must be verified either in physical or electronic form by offline authentication or verification, or in any other specified form. Verification is done by fingerprint, iris scan, OTP authentication, and QR code, etc.
Therefore, it is almost impossible to impersonate you if you are using Aadhaar to prove your identity. People freely gave away other identity documents such as passport, voter ID card, PAN card, ration card, driver's license, etc.
They continue to use them and in the event of fraud, the police will treat them according to the law.
The same logic will apply to Aadhaar. Aadhaar is more secure than many other ID documents because unlike other credentials, Aadhaar is instantly verifiable through biometric and OTP authentication and QR code. Also, under the Aadhaar Law of 2016, severe penalties, including fines and jail time, are provided whenever someone abuses your Aadhaar number or attempts to harm you.
