Aadhar Card for Children
The introduction of aadhar in India has changed the scenario of documents proof in the country. The aadhar card acts as both Proof of Address as well as an Identification card because it has all the relevant details relating to the biometric and demographic information of an individual all encrypted in a single card. Apart from this, the aadhar card is valid across the country. It is very hard to forge the card as it has all the crucial biometric data related to an individual. Hence the UIDAI, which is the Aadhaar issuing authority in India has made provisions to include all the residents in India irrespective of age, caste, creed, income group, gender and so on. With this, the aadhar card is issued to children as well. Even new-born babies are also eligible for securing an Aadhaar Card. Many hospitals across the country have started to get babies enrolled for aadhar and they are providing the aadhar acknowledgement slips along with birth certificates to their parents.
Aadhar Card for Children Who are Aged Below 5 Years
The following are the features of the aadhaar card for children who are aged below 5 years:
Only Child’s photo will be taken for Aadhaar Card.
No biometric data will be taken for children who are aged below 5 years.
Aadhar card is generated for all the children who are aged below 5 years and this exclusively includes even the new-borns.
Once the child turns five years, he has to provide the biometric details of all the 10 fingers and iris scan.
If both parents do not have aadhaar, then they will have to first get enrolled for securing aadhaar.
It is compulsory to provide aadhar details of at least one of the parents.
A photograph will be taken during the process.
The same process has to be repeated when the child turns 15 years.
