The UIDAI has started the first Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Delhi and Vijayawada. It plans to set up 114 such centres across India by the year-end. These Aadhaar Seva Kendras are meant to facilitate enrollment, updation and other activities related to Aadhaar Card. These centres will be owned by UIDAI and will operate in addition to the existing enrollment centres which are currently operational at various banks, government offices and post offices across the country.
The UIDAI is setting up Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) in line with the concept of Passport Seva Kendras and intends to cover over 53 cities across India with an estimated project cost ranging between Rs 300 – Rs 400 crore.
At the moment, the new centres are functioning on a pilot basis. The Delhi centre is located at Akshardham Metro Station premises and can handle close to 1000 enrollment or updation requests per day. It has 16 work stations and will be operational in six days in a week which also includes weekends. The Aadhar Seva Kendra in Delhi will remain closed on Tuesday and public holidays only. It will remain open between 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The other one located in Vijayawada is half of that of the Delhi centre. It is located in the Labbipet area opposite to the municipal water tank. The centre can handle up to 500 requests per day and is operational on all the 7 days in a week between 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The main advantage of an Aadhar Seva Kendra is the model comes up with an online appointment management system which allows individuals to book a slot as per their convenience.
It is a must to have an AADHAR card to avail various services. There are many Aadhar Card centres in Bangalore, which individuals can approach to get their card done. One of the important features of the card is the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System:
Although the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made considerable efforts to provide the best Aadhaar services to Indian residents, for this, UIDAI has established many Aadhaar registration centres in Bangalore. There are times when people are always faced with grievances from time to time. From the registration process to receiving receipts or updating erroneous information, individuals are always faced with multiple problems.
To overcome all of these problems, the UIDAI has put in place a grievance system to deal with concerns or problems that residents may get solution for everything related to Aadhaar.
A contact centre has been set up by UIDAI through which residents can get in touch with the organization.
Complaints and grievances can be addressed to the authorities by the following means:
Any problem or grievance requiring the participation of a registration agency will be sent via a web portal to the node agent appointed by the registrar.
While there are many grievances regarding the Aadhaar card, the most common ones that Indian residents face are listed below with their solutions:
1. What to do when the UIDAI rejects a resident and he/she does not receive an Aadhaar card?
If this problem occurs, the valid reasons for rejection of a resident are communicated to him with the registrar. Any action taken after a rejection will also be communicated to both parties.
2. What to do when a resident misplaces or loses his Aadhaar card?
If a resident misplaces or loses their Aadhaar card or does not have their Aadhaar number, they can then contact the Contact Center concerned by telephone, letter or e-mail. The resident can do this using their registration number and a request can be sent to the centre to send another Aadhaar card.
However, fees may be charged to benefit from this service. If Aadhaar is used by the resident to use some kind of service, then the resident can acquire the Aadhaar number by contacting the agency that offered the service.
3. What if the Aadhaar card does not reach the intended resident or if the delivery has failed?
If the aadhaar card is not issued to the person concerned, he/she must contact the UIDAI contact centre and provide them with their registration number. Alternatively, a resident can connect to the official UIDAI website and check the status of their Aadhaar request by filling in the required information on the site.
4. What if the Aadhaar card contains spelling mistakes or other demographic errors?
At the time of registration, the resident must enter the correct data. Since the resident can see the data entry, he/she is required to double-check that there are no errors or mistakes before submitting the information.
However, if the information provided still contains errors, the resident has another opportunity to correct the errors before sending them for finalization. If the errors are not identified and corrected, the registration confirmation letter will be printed in accordance with the information submitted.
Even if errors are not identified and corrected after this step, the resident may be required to go to the registration centre in order to make a demographic correction. This must be done within 2 days of registration. In addition, the resident must present all documents relevant to the corrections and the registration form at the centre.
5. What if the names in Aadhaar and PAN are different? Do they create a problem when linking?
To link Aadhaar and PAN, a person's demographic information (date of birth, gender, name, etc.) must match. Even a minor lag can cause a problem when linking. The process will fail and there will be a prompt to change the name in the database. This is another separate procedure, which involved administrative formalities.
If everything is correct, a one-time password (OTP) is sent to the registered mobile number to ensure that the gender and date of birth in Aadhaar and PAN are the same.
6. Can the UIDAI website / aadhaar online services be accessible outside of India?
The official UIDAI government website is accessible despite the location. There are no restrictions on them. But there are a few web portals available depending on geographic policies. Therefore, these features cannot be accessed outside of India.
These include Aadhaar link status, SSUP (self-service update portal), resident portal, e-Aadhaar, etc.
7. Usually, a child receives his blue Aadhaar. Is it valid?
Yes, it is a valid aadhaar card. According to the latest policies of Aadhaar, the UIDAI gives blue Aadhaar to children between and 5 years old. After the age of 5, the blue Aadhaar issued becomes invalid. Consequently, the child must have his biometric and demographic information updated at the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre with the same aadhaar number. If this is not done in time, the aadhar becomes invalid.
8. If an aadhaar has been updated recently and says manual check, what does this mean?
Indeed, the aadhaar is updated in the system and it takes at least 90 days. However, if the status remains the same even after 90 days, you can contact the authorities by dialling the toll-free number - 1947 or email them at [email protected] for assistance.
9. How long does it take for aadhaars to arrive after a new request?
If the aadhaar is generated from the initial registration, note that each subsequent attempt will be rejected. Therefore, there is no point in reapplying. Instead, the aadhaar can be retrieved via the following:
10. What if someone misplaces their Aadhaar number?
A resident can search for his aadhaar number via his aadhaar online service
A resident can also call the toll-free number - 1947 and get help from an agent to retrieve their EID (Registration ID). The resident can use it more to download the e-aadhaar via the official portal.
Aadhaar KYC(Know Your Customer) is an online service that allows service providers to instantly access the necessary information from the individual.
The service is also called E-KYC. In this service, a person can authorize the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to disclose his personal information to specific service providers to benefit from instant access or connection. Those who are having the Aadhaar card they can use this KYC service. In case you are not applied or not received Aadhaar card you must visit any Aadhaar enrollment centre in Bangalore.
This includes different types of service providers such as banks, telecommunications companies, etc. The Aadhaar card is a good way to complete this process because you do not have to provide multiple documents for each type of evidence such as proof of identity, proof of address, etc. The Aadhaar card is a small but effective document for this process. However, verifying Aadhaar details takes some time as you must visit each centre to submit your card and have it verified. In such cases, E-KYC is very useful because institutions and companies do not need you to come and check the details mentioned on the card. Indeed, they access this information directly via UIDAI, which means that it has already been verified. This makes the whole process faster and easier.
The Indian government has helped all telecommunications subscribers to provide a single number to link Aadhaar to the SIM card using interactive voice response (IVR) services. This IVR process supports Multiple languages like English, Hindi and other languages. Based on your locality you can select the language. Once the user calls the IVR and gives their consent for verification with the Aadhaar number, they will then receive the OTP code which, once verified to be correct, the mobile phone number will then be verified and linked to your Aadhaar. All prepaid subscribers, as well as postpaid subscribers, could follow the steps below to link Aadhaar to the phone number.
1. Dial the toll-free number 14546 on your mobile phone.
2. Check if you live in India or if you are an NRI. Press 1 If you are a resident of India to recheck Aadhar.
3. Accept your consent to associate your Aadhaar number with your mobile number.
4.Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
5. Press 1 to confirm your Aadhar number
6. Enter the mobile number which is registered with your Aadhar card to receive OTP.
7. Give your consent to allow the telecommunications operator to access your date of birth, name and photo from the UIDAI database
8. Enter the OTP which you received Press 1 to complete the rechecking process.
According to a recent announcement from the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, NRIs can apply for an Aadhaar card without the mandatory waiting period of 182 days by visiting any Aadhaar enrollment centers in Bangalore. Instead, they can request the document at their place of residence and submit the biometric data once they have landed in India. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) also issued a circular stating that NRI, after arriving in India, will have the right to obtain the Aadhaar number.
Here are the main things to know about the Aadhaar card for NRIs:
1.NRIs with an Indian passport can now request a biometric identity document upon arrival or by making a prior appointment from any Aadhaar enrollment centres. The Government of Indian eliminated the requirement of a mandatory waiting period of 182 days.
2. The UIDAI circular indicates that a valid Indian passport will be accepted as proof of identity, proof of address (PoA) and document of date of birth.
3. If the NRI passport does not have an Indian address, it will be authorized to submit any other PoA document approved by the UIDAI as proof of address.
4.
Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) CEO said that the systems are being prepared for installation and that the necessary legal measures should be notified soon. We are working to make the appropriate technical changes and we will provide a meeting place where people outside the country can also request a time slot and specify where they would like to go to have their Aadhaar made as soon as they come to India, they can, very conveniently, go and have their Aadhaar done.
A non-resident Indian who applies for an Aadhar card can visit the UIDAI website and find an approved UIDAI Enrollment centre near them in Bangalore. Once the AAdhaar enrollment centre has been selected, the person can go to the authorized Aadhaar enrollment centre with proof of identity and other supporting documents. Here are the steps that an NRI can observe to benefit from an Aadhaar card at the Aadhar enrollment centre:
Submission of Documents:
The initial step to take advantage of an Aadhaar card is to submit all relevant documents that establish the identity of the non-resident Indian. The documents must provide include a birth certificate, a photo ID and a school certificate. The documents submitted will then be verified by officials to determine whether or not the person is eligible for an Aadhaar card.
Fingerprints scanning:
After an NRI has submitted their documents, he/she will be called for a biometric analysis where his ten fingers will be scanned to establish the unique identity. Biometric scanning is necessary to ensure that the person's identification is unique and accurate, so the person will have to go to the Aadhaar card enrollment centre to complete the process.
Iris Scanning:
The fingerprints will not be the only thing to scan to establish a person's perfect identity.
Authorities will also scan his iris to ensure that the identity is never likely to be confused with that of someone else. The scanning of the iris will also take place at the Aadhaar enrollment centre after scanning with the fingerprints.
Capturing Photograph:
Once the scanning procedures are completed, Aadhaar candidates will need to be photographed by the web camera at the enrollment centre. The photograph will then be added to the Aadhaar documents and they will receive the physical copy of the UIDAI Aadhaar card.
It takes approximately 60 to 90 days for authorities to ship the Aadhaar card, but you can track the status of your Aadhaar card online by visiting the UIDAI website with the Enrollment number (EID) mentioned in the acknowledgement of receipt slip.
The time required for the UIDAI card to send the Aadhaar card from an NRI is the same as the time required to issue the Aadhaar card from a resident. By following the simple steps mentioned above, one can benefit from the Aadhaar card with relative ease.
UIDAI also offers residents and non-resident Indians the ability to download the e-Aadhaar card from its website. Digital copy of Aadhar is also accepted for all kinds of services.

The government has found many cases where one person has more than one driving license. In accordance with the laws relating to road transport, a person cannot hold several driving licenses. A driving license issued in one state is valid in all other states and Union territories of the country. Thus, a person does not need to have multiple driver's licenses.
To stem this threat, the central government plans to link Aadhaar to driver's licenses. Non-Aadhaar licenses would be deactivated after the deadline. Since only one driving license can be linked to Aadhaar, the issue of duplicate licenses can be easily controlled.
The process has not yet started, but will soon be launched once the Ministry of Road Transport and Motorways has finalized all legal and infrastructural arrangements. If a person has more than one driver's license, they may hand it over to the regional office of the Road Transport Department.
With the Aadhaar initiative of the government of India gaining momentum, the government registered nearly 92% of the total Indian residents for the same. Although managing the whole task was a huge task, UIDAI has developed many Aadhaar card services that people can use to check, verify or manage various facilities which will increase the acceptance and portability of 12-digit biometric proof of identity. All these services are free and accessible to all regardless of region, religion, caste or creed. These services are available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The following Aadhaar card services are provided by UIDAI to all Indian residents:

India's Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) has launched a new service called Aadhaar SMS Services for residents who do not have access to the Internet/Residents Portal/m-Aadhaar and others. With this new feature, Aadhaar cardholders will be able to use various aadhaar services such as VID generation/retrieval, Aadhaar lock/ unlock, biometric lock/unlock and other related services.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has a new feature to lock and unlock your Aadhaar number come up with a new idea to provide simple services to the citizens. The decision was made to further strengthen the privacy and security of an individual's Aadhaar number.
Once you have locked your Aadhaar number, authentication services using any method, namely demographic, biometric, or OTP (one-time-password) cannot be performed using the Aadhaar number. Therefore, you will need to use the 16-digit virtual ID for Aadhaar to undertake authentication services for KYC purposes. You can only use your Aadhaar number for authentication services after you unlock it.
Before locking your Aadhaar number, remember that you need to generate your virtual ID first. If the virtual ID is not generated by you, you will not be able to lock your Aadhaar number.
You can generate your virtual ID from the UIDAI website or simply by sending an SMS. Remember that your mobile number must be registered in the UIDAI database to generate your virtual identifier by SMS.

Step 2: After the SMS sent by you from your registered mobile number, UIDAI will send you a 6 digit OTP by SMS to the same number.
Step 3: You will need to send another SMS as follows: LOCKUID The last four digits of the Aadhaar number 6 digit OTP number.
For example: LOCKUID and send it to 1947.
Once the SMS has been sent, the UIDAI locks your Aadhaar number. You will also receive the message confirming your request.

1. To lock the Aadhaar number, you must pre-generate the VID, otherwise, it cannot be locked.
2. In the case where several Aadhaar numbers are attached to the same mobile phone number, and when the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number are identical for at least 2 dependents, the second SMS must be sent to 1947 as LOCKUID Aadhaar Number-last- 8 digits OTP-6 digits.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues the Aadhaar Card as proof of unique identity. The Aadhaar card has a verifiable 12-digit identification number and the document itself is widely used and accepted proof of photo identification. Recently, UIDAI has also started to publish the hidden Aadhaar card on its website. The hidden Aadhaar card acts as an additional security measure, in case you do not wish to share your Aadhaar card number by presenting Aadhaar as identification in places such as hotels or airports.
The Masked Aadhaar card means an e-Aadhaar card in which only the last 4 digits of your 12-digit Aadhaar card number are visible. After apprehensions were expressed over alleged leaks of Aadhaar card data, UIDAI began to provide a safer option in the form of a hidden Aadhaar card. The hidden Aadhaar card can be easily downloaded from the UIDAI website after the required authentication.

In the past year, the importance of the Aadhaar card has increased considerably. The Government of India has made it compulsory for individuals to link this document to various other documents such as the PAN card, driver's license, etc. It is not only a regular ID card, but it is a unique document as it contains essential information including demographic and biometric details. In between, the latter is much more important as it involves your fingerprints, the details of your eyes (iris) and your photo identity.
Biometric data is now used for the verification of Aadhaar. For example, if you need a new mobile connection and need a SIM card, you will need to submit your Aadhaar card as proof of identity. For this process, you can use your fingerprints for verification, allowing the mobile operator to obtain the necessary identity information. Biometric data can speed up the identification process. However, this biometric data is yours and can be dangerous in the wrong hands. For this reason, it is important to keep it safe, to avoid misuse.
A recent report claimed that sensitive information such as Aadhaar numbers and other personal details of many people had been leaked through government portals.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), however, clarified that the basic biometric data of Aadhaar cardholders have not yet been the subject of a cyber attack. While this is certainly good news for everyone, it is important that we are aware and proactive when it comes to protecting our personal information.
Fortunately, to avoid misuse of this data, UIDAI has developed a way to lock out biometric information.
To offer more choices to citizens authenticating with Aadhaar, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced facial authentication as well as fingerprints and iris. This measure will be used in Fusion with existing authentication methods such as fingerprints, iris and OTP (one-time-password). Implemented by July this year, facial authentication should also increase security by adding another layer of verification. When registering for Aadhaar, a photo of the resident's face is also captured.
To provide inclusive authentication, the face photo can also be used to verify the identity of the resident an Aadhaar cardholder. The UIDAI added that facial authentication will offer an additional choice for those who have difficulty authenticating their fingerprints/iris. As the face photo is already available in the UIDAI database, there is no need to capture new data.
And since the camera is now ubiquitous on laptops and mobiles, face capture is easily achievable for authentication agencies without the need for additional hardware. Face authentication with alertness detection can be used as an additional factor to increase the security level.
This does not mean that you need to go to an Aadhaar enrollment centre again for authentication of facial recognition details. UIDAI will tap into its database for functionality. In fact, it will work with suppliers of biometric devices to integrate the facial modality into certified registered devices and will also provide an autonomous registered device service as required by the ecosystem.
UIDAI has already added an additional privacy firewall with virtual credentials and a limited KYC. Apart from that, it has implemented a biometric lock as an additional layer of protection against intrusions or external breaches.

It is not compulsory to link your EPF account to your Aadhar card number. However, when you make the Aadhar EPF link, you benefit from many advantages.

Prevent fraud: When you link your Aadhar number with EPF account, All your details like personal and demographic will be updated with EPF account. Even your biometric details are updated with EPFO.
