The Aadhar card is a government document for which a resident Indian can apply and obtain at any of the Aadhaar Enrollment Centres. It is a 12 digit identification number issued to an individual after receiving demographic information such as name, date of birth, residential address, biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scan and so on. It consists of random numbers which have no relationship to any personal details of the individual.
Earlier, the UIDAI used to follow the rules as per the Aadhar Act of 2016 which mentioned that aadhar can be issued only to the resident Indians. As per the act, the resident refers to an individual who has been residing in India for a period of equal to or more than 180 days in the 12 months immediately before the applying for the Aadhaar number.
But the 2019 Union Budget proposed to issue Aadhaar card to NRIs on arrival, who hold Indian passports without waiting for the mandatory 180 days.
The Aadhaar Card is linked with the centralized databases and mainly contains the demographic and biometric details of an individual which plays a key role in identifying the individual.
The linking of the aadhar card with the Vodafone number will help the individuals to get benefits from various welfare schemes run by the government of India. The main purpose of linking of aadhar with a mobile number is done for security reason only. In India people can get any number of mobile SIM cards from various telecom providers. The document submitted at the time of procuring the SIM card may not be original and hence the linking of aadhar with mobile numbers will help to check the fraudulent activities thus reducing the total number of illegal activities in the country.
The Vodafone customers have to follow the below-mentioned steps to link their mobile number with Aadhar.

Step 4: Provide this OTP to the executive.
Step 5: Provide your biometric details using your fingerprints and verify the same.
Step 6: You will get a confirmation message on your Vodafone number within 24 hours.
Step 7: Reply on the message by typing “Y” to complete the linking procedure.
The Vodafone user has to follow the below-mentioned steps to link their mobile number and aadhaar card number via IVRS.
Step 1: Call Vodafone’s toll-free number.
Step 2: Follow the instructions carefully and choose the options accordingly.
Step 3: Now proceeding further select the “Link Aadhaar with your Mobile Number” option.
Step 4: Enter your Aadhar card number, proceed further and confirm.

The initiation has taken up by the government of India to provide a unique universal identification number to each Indian citizen is gradually bearing the fruits of benefits. Step 3: Now look out for the ‘Driving License’ option from the drop-down menu
Step 4: Enter your driving license number proceed further and click on the option ‘Get Details’.
Step 5: Verify the details of your driving license.
Step 6: Now enter your 12 digits unique Aadhar Card Number
Step 7: Enter your mobile number which is registered with Aadhaar and click on ‘Submit’ button.

Step 9: Proceeding further, enter the OTP to complete the process of linking aadhar with driving license.
Over the past few years, the government of India has come across various instances wherein a single individual has more than one driving license. As per the rules framed by the Road Transport Department, a person cannot possess more than one driving license. The driving license issued in one state is valid across all the other states and Union Territories in India and hence there is no need to have multiple driving licenses.
To curb the annoyance, the central government of India is planning to link aadhar card with driving license. Post deadline, those licenses which are not linked with aadhar will be deactivated, as only one driving license can be linked with aadhar. With this, the issue of duplicate licenses can be checked easily.
If in case, if a person holds multiple driving licenses, then the same can be surrendered at a regional office of the Road Transport Department.
Every citizen in India needs an aadhaar card to avail certain government facilities as well as private sector facilities. There are many Aadhaar enrollment centres across India including Hyderabad. To avail Aadhaar card you need to visit any Aadhaar enrollment centre which is near to you along with all supporting documents for genuine details.
The document serves as proof of address and identity for a person. Aadhaar is a unique 12-digit identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The E-Aadhar card is an electronic card and is available online, therefore accessible at all times, and individuals do not have to worry about losing their card because it is virtual and cannot be lost.
Individuals who already have an Aadhaar card can enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number. Persons who have not yet received their Aadhaar number must first note the registration number, time and date provided in their acknowledgement of receipt which would have been provided at the time of their request for Aadhar.
Individuals need to follow below four methods to download Aadhaar card from UIDAI website:
The Aadhaar card serves as both residential and identification proof. After the completion of the registration process in Aadhaar enrollment centre in Hyderabad, individuals can download the E-Aadhaar card from the official UIDAI website and print it for later use. This electronic copy is as valid as the physical copy of the Aadhaar according to Aadhaar act. you can download your e-Aadhaar by following these steps:

Below are the steps to follow for Aadhaar Enrolment via online
For Aadhaar Enrolment offline process, follow the instructions given below:
The government of India has set many Aadhaar enrollment centres across India including Hyderabad to provide various Aadhaar related services. Registration centres in Hyderabad have been opened to help residents register in Aadhaar fairly easily and update their contact details offline. There are many Aadhaar registration centres in Hyderabad. You can visit any nearby Aadhaar enrollment centre and sign up for Aadhaar enrollment or updation.
The UIDAI operating two types of Aadhaar card enrollment centres:
1.Permanent registration centres
2.Temporary registration centres
Permanent registration centres are set up full time to meet all the needs of residents in Aadhaar. They perform the Aadhaar registration as well as the update. These centres are managed by authorized agencies and are safe to visit and submit the Aadhaar registration request.
Temporary registration centres are managed by unlicensed agencies. They operate on a contractual basis. The main objective of most of these centres is to recruit new Aadhaar. As the registration process in Aadhaar reaches its saturation point, most of the temporary registration centres in Aadhaar have ceased to operate or will soon cease to operate.
In accordance with new circulars and notices from the government, all registration centres for Aadhaar cards must be moved to government or bank premises. There are many Aadhaar registration centres across the country including Hyderabad. UIDAI has asked all private and public banks to open a registration centre in Aadhaar in at least one in ten branches. Currently, there are collectively 1,200,000 bank branches in India. With this step, the government plans to move some of the registration centres to the bank's premises and the rest to other government offices and departments. Previously, Aadhaar registration centres operated from private premises.
This will ensure that these centres do not abuse their authority and charge more for the services provided. It will also help the government conduct its operations in a secure environment.

An introduction to digital Aadhaar card:
India is moving towards digitization and many measures are in place to achieve it. In addition to going digital, many processes are implemented to ensure that all citizen information is compiled into a single central database.
The measure taken in this direction is the introduction of the Aadhar number. The e-Aadhar number is a 12-digit identity provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India to all Indian citizens through permanent Aadhaar enrollment centres. Through this process, biometric and demographic data of individuals are collected and stored in a centralized database. Make sure that individuals need to register their mobile number to download the e-Aadhaar card.
Below are the steps individuals will need to take to download the e-Aadhar card:-
Individuals who already availed an Aadhaar card can enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number. Persons who have not yet received their Aadhaar number must first note the registration/enrollment number, time and date provided in their acknowledgement of receipt which would have been provided at the time of their request for Aadhar.
The computer must be connected to the Internet when validating the digital signature.
This function allows you to check whether your mobile number or e-mail address is mentioned in your Aadhaar or not. Your mobile number must be registered with the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) to benefit from this service. Only you can do this verification. You can either verify your mobile number or your e-mail ID.
This function allows you to check the last bank account linked to your Aadhaar.
In case you have not linked a bank account to Aadhaar, a message will appear indicating the fact. You must register your mobile phone number with the Aadhaar card before taking advantage of this feature.
The information on the Aadhaar link is extracted from the NPCI server. However, the information is more securable and doesn't share from NPCI servers is stored by UIDAI.
Aadhaar Paperless Local e-KYC enables offline identity verification, limits data sharing. It is an offline identity verification method in which verification can be done without sharing the biometrics or even the Aadhaar number. Following the Supreme Court ruling on Aadhaar and in order to resolve privacy concerns and limit data sharing, UIDAI launched an Aadhaar Paperless Local e-KYC method which is an offline method identity verification in which verification can be performed without sharing biometric data or even Aadhaar Number.
This method also allows you to choose the details related to Aadhaar that you want to share for identification purposes. According to a UIDAI, the government is pushing for offline tools to verify a person's Aadhaar by a method that will not require the sharing of biometrics or involve UIDAI servers. According to the report, there are two ways to check Aadhaar offline by using the QR code on the Aadhaar card and via local paperless e-KYC. Paperless local e-KYC involves the generation of digitally signed XML that can be stored in a laptop, tablet and a phone.
This is how the paperless local e-KYC performs: According to the UIDAI website, digitally signed XML offers a secure shareable document that can be used by any Aadhaar number holder for offline verification of identification.
Once the data has been uploaded to the UIDAI website, you can take this file to the service provider for verification. The service provider will use the XML file to verify the details. You will need to provide your email and mobile number.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made the m-Aadhaar application available to a resident with or without Aadhaar. In the m-Aadhaar application, the Aadhaar holder can benefit from the service of a personalized section. This m-Aadhaar service allows the Aadhaar holder to transport their Aadhaar information in the form of an electronic copy.
M-Aadhaar Services:
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the hub for 12-digit Aadhaar issuance, has released a new mAadhaar app for iOS and Android users. The application is aimed at smartphone users by providing a multitude of services. The Aadhaar cardholder can easily transport their Aadhaar information in the form of an electronic copy. Indian Railways accepts m-Aadhaar as proof of identity for any traveler embarking on a train journey.
In the m-Aadhaar application, the Aadhaar holder can benefit from the service of a personalized section. This m-Aadhaar service allows the Aadhaar holder to transport their Aadhaar information in the form of an electronic copy. In the m-Aadhaar app, Aadhaar services are available in 12 Indian languages.
These 12 languages are Hindi, Urdu, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannad, Iodia, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and Telugu. UIDAI has made the m-Aadhaar application available to a resident with or without Aadhaar. However, personalized Aadhaar services are available for users who have registered their Aadhaar profile in the m-Aadhaar app.
People are worrying to provide a 12-digit Aadhaar number and data being misused or stolen? For those who don't want to share your unique Identification number, you now have an alternative in the form of the Aadhaar Virtual Identifier (VID). The VID will allow you to authenticate e-KYC(know-your-customer) for transactions and services instead of providing your Aadhaar number.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched the installation and service providers will start accepting the VID instead of the Aadhaar number. For now, you can use it for online address updating in your Aadhaar.
The VID is a temporary 16-digit random number you can generate many times based on your Aadhaar number. The UIDAI said that the Aadhaar number cannot be derived from the generated VID. The virtual ID can be used for authentication purposes in the same way that the Aadhaar number is used. Currently, the VID can be generated on the UIDAI resident portal. According to the UIDAI declaration, various entities will have to migrate to the new system where they can accept the VID for authentication.
As it is a digital identification, Aadhaar holders can regenerate it several times, which makes it safer than providing your real Aadhaar number. Currently, the VID is valid for a minimum of one day, which means that an Aadhaar holder would be able to recreate a new VID one day after generating the first one. In addition, there is no expiration period defined for the VID yet and it will be valid until you generate a new one.
This particular installation, on the UIDAI website, is only accessible if your mobile phone number is registered in the UIDAI database. Indeed, all the online services linked to Aadhaar are activated by a unique password (OTP) and for this, registering your mobile phone number with UIDAI is a must.
Where you still need Aadhaar and where the VID could be useful.
Although the Supreme Court has indefinitely extended the time limit for binding Aadhaar to bank accounts, various other financial services and mobile phones until the pending applications are decided before it is pronounced. If you open a new bank account or buy an insurance policy, instead of quoting your Aadhaar number, you can provide your 16-digit VID.
Step 1: Access the VID generator on the UIDAI home page, under Aadhaar Services.
Step 2: Enter your Aadhaar number, your security captcha code, and click on send OTP. You will receive the OTP on your mobile number registered with the UIDAI.
Step 3: Under the field to enter the OTP, you will have the option of generating a new VID or retrieving the one you have already generated. Upon submission, you will receive the VID on your mobile number.
A report from a year ago suggested that several parties had attempted illegally to store biometric data and perform multiple transactions using the same fingerprint. UIDAI detected the issue when it found multiple transactions made using the same fingerprint. The official said that this would not have been possible without storing biometric data.
The story is not over on the misuse of Aadhaar as the organization suspended the eKYC license of Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank after violating the Aadhaar law which prohibited the company from opening bank accounts of their clients without obtaining informed consent from them.
Generating duplicate Aadhaar Cards:
Besides the usual fear associated with hackers who violate the Aadhaar database, the threat of fake Aadhaar cards is also a problem for UIDAI. According to a report last year, a gang in Kanpur was running a racket in order to generate fake Aadhaar cards. UIDAI said its systems detected abnormal activity and filed a complaint accordingly. He specified that the big scam to generate the fake cards had been foiled by the system and that it did not affect the database of the processing system.
What is interesting is that the UIDAI refused to disclose the number of fake or duplicate Aadhaar cards in circulation, citing the threat to national security. So much for transparency and accountability on the part of the UIDAI and the government.
Sales demographics:
A recent investigation by The Tribune revealed that anonymous individuals were willing to sell the Aadhaar card details of any individual with an Aadhaar number against payment of a sum of Rs.500. An additional Rs.300 would also allow you to print these Aadhaar cards. The investigating team was able to obtain a login ID and username for the team to verify the details of one of the database users. What was surprising to note was that the “agents” were running a racket using messaging platforms like WhatsApp to reach potential buyers.
Access to Aadhaar's demographics is not the only issue here. An additional Rs.300 could also allow the agent with a login ID and username to print any Aadhaar card after entering the card number. The report also pointed out that the agents hacked into the Rajasthan government website to gain access to the software. According to the report, the investigator was able to gain immediate access to contact details for all users listed by UIDAI, including name, address, photograph, email id as well as mobile phone number.
Other complaints:
Allegations of unauthorized access to the Aadhaar database are not confined to websites nationwide. According to a previous report from last year, WikiLeaks tweeted claiming that the CIA may also have access to the database.
The series of tweets claimed that the CIA was using cross-matching technologies to access the Aadhaar database, as the company was one of the first providers of biometric devices certified by the UIDAI.
