PAN Card or Permanent Account Number is one of the important documents in India.
This acts as a valid identity proof and is a must for carrying out various financial transactions. Though it is not mandatory for all the Indian citizens to have a PAN Card, it is mandatory for those who pay Income Tax. This card is required at the time of purchasing and selling of fixed tangible assets apart from carrying out the financial transactions wherein the amount is equal to or more than Rs 50,000.
The PAN Card status can be checked post submission of an application to procure PAN Card and before the receipt of the same by the applicant. PAN status refers to the facility which is available to the holders of PAN Card to check their respective status through online mode. This facility helps to check the relevant information to the applicants about their PAN Card delivery status.

If they have not received within the stipulated time, then there is no need to reapply for the same again. Applicants can check their PAN Card status within the stipulated time frame, three days after submission of the application form. As per this method, applicants have to send an SMS by typing NSDLPAN followed by 15 digit acknowledgement number to 57575. A reply for the same will be sent to the applicant which will show the PAN Card status accordingly.
As per this method, applicants have to call the call centre of TIN to get an update of the current application status of the PAN Card applicant.
Applicants who have submitted their PAN card should check the status of the PAN Card application only after 5 days from the date of generation of 15 digit acknowledgement number or 10 digit UTI Coupon.
